Celebrate the Lunar New Year With The Maestro Moon Phase

Feb 4, 2019

Otherwise known as ‘Chinese New Year’, the Lunar New Year falls on a different date each year and follows the lunar calendar rather than the Gregorian, we are accustom to using in the UK.  The celebrations for Lunar New Year are spread across 23 days, starting on Monday 28 January with the Lunar New Year beginning on Tuesday 5 February 2019 and is the Year of the Pig.

As a luxury watchmaker and horological expert we are in sync with all things movement and time, as echoed in our recent maestro Moon Phase collection. Featuring a complication synchronising the rhythms of time with the poetry of the stars, developed in the pure Swiss watchmaking tradition.

Positioned at o’clock the timepieces  present a moon-phase indicator offering a stellar view via a crescent-shaped aperture.  The watches presents themselves with a delicate wave-like decorated blue, silver or grey dial, sleek Roman numeral hour markers and elegant hands displaying time in complete harmony. The current date is clearly revealed through the aperture located at 3 o’clock while the case-back is fitted with a pane of sapphire crystal, disclosing the mechanical movement.
